When I am not busy working or doing homework, I like to spend my free catching up with my favorite hobbies. As some of you may know, I'm not your typical girl, and my interests will show you why.
Video Game
One of my all time favorite hobbies are playing video games. Ever since I was about 4 years old, my parent bought us the first Nintendo system, and I have been hooked since. Also, my mom encouraged me and my brother to play video games as she believed they were good for hand - eye coordination and many of the games I played had extensive reading involved.
I have almost all the console systems and handhelds made since the original NES, and my collection is still growing. I have over 15 systems and game consoles now, but I lost count over the years. My favorite games to play are RPG's, action/adventure games, and dancing/music games, but I also enjoy everything else. Having such a wide variety of games and game systems is really great because no matter what game I am in the mood to play, or what console the newest game is going to come out on, I have no limits.
I've also been blessed enough to work as a professional gamer and video game demonstrator for some of the largest video game companies out there. With my event experience and my video game playing skills, I get great opportunities to merge my love of gaming and event modeling into one job.
Some people think that video games are bad or stupid, or only loner nerds with no girlfriends are hardcore gamers. Although to some degree this might be true, I think I break that stereotypical view of what a gamer is. I often hear people tell me that they would have never guessed that I am a hard core gamer, and are often very impressed by my gaming skills and knowledge.
![]() Cooking
I love cooking! There is nothing more satisfying then trying a new recipe and finding out how good it turned out. Everyone has to eat, and I took this necessity to the next level. Whether it is making and baking bread from scratch to creating the best roasted prime rib dinner you have ever eaten, I love cooking and creating new dishes. A few of my favorite recipes include baking bread, mushroom fettuccini Alfredo, spicy Thai curry chicken, steak and boiled garlic crab.
![]() Modifying Cars
Another one of my favorite hobby is working on cars. I love everything about cars. I currently have a 2006 BMW 330i. My fiance has a '90 Nissan 240SX and a 2009 Honda Civic, and together we share an old school '74 Datsun 260Z. I really love my BMW since it is my personal car, but I enjoy my other cars just as much. I also enjoy fixing up cars, and although I'm not really into the "street racing" scene anymore, it is still fun to customize your car to better fit who you are. You might wonder how my interest in cars started. When I got my first my car when I was 18, I wanted to learn how to do all the regular maintenance myself, and yes I do know how to change my own oil. From there, I learned more about cars and how to modify them. My fiance is also one of the top auto techs for the county and he is constantly teaching me more and more about cars as well.
I secretly talk to cars every time I go into the garage. I am sure my fiance thinks I am a bit weird because I always tell my BMW that I miss driving it when I come back from traveling.
Computer Art Work
As some of you might know, I am currently going to school to get my bachelor's degree in Video Game Art and Design. Sometimes when I have a lot of free time I like to hop on the computer and make some art work. I do both 2D and 3D artwork using such programs as Photo Shop, Illustrator, Maya, and 3Ds Max. I also enjoy doing some web design work, like this website that you are on right now. The pictures you see here are some samples of my past art work.
